Matteo Sánchez Diegopérez (also known as Matteo S. Diegopérez) (born December 19, 2007, Huixquilucan del Degollado; raised in Toronto) is a Canadian filmmaker, director, writer and editor studying Film Production at York University. He first emerged with the guerrilla-style, micro-budget experimental short Green Grass, Yellow Sun (2025), and more recently won Best Narrative Film for his debut festival submission, MÍGUEL (2025)—a Spanish-language drama shot in Mexico.
Diegopérez draws inspiration from his biggest influences, including but not limited to Park Chan-Wook, Spike Jonze, Paul Thomas Anderson and Robert Bresson.
